James M. Boyd, Jr.

Jim Boyd is of counsel to the firm. He advises both private and public agency clients on business and financial transactional issues and the attendant tax implications. He has a transactional and tax-based practice. He is certified as a tax law specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In the municipal bond area of his practice, Mr. Boyd has served as tax, disclosure and bond counsel in debt issuances raising modest sums to hundreds of millions of dollars. He is listed as a qualified bond counsel in The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace (Red Book). Prior to joining Bartkiewicz, Kronick & Shanahan, he was a partner with Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard. He received his A.B. degree from Washington & Lee University in 1968, his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1975, and his LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1976.
